We went to a garden party on Sunday afternoon. I don’t think that I had ever been to one before. Neither had Judy. It was fun and I leaned some things about the trees and plants in the beautiful gardens of the home where the party was held.
Thanks to the hosts and to the Fletcher Place garden club coordinator for sharing their time and talents with their neighbors. The food was delicious, too.
A garden party. Just another great thing about living in Fletcher Place.
As sserved at the garden tour:
Vanilla Cupcakes
4 1/2 oz unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cups milk
Preheat oven to 350. Place butter and sugar in a bowl and beat until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla, then add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt and fold into mixture, alternating with the milk until it has a soft dropping consistency. Spoon into muffin cups and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes in the tin. Turn the cupcakes out onto a wire rack to cool. Ice the cakes when cool and top with raspberries. Makes 12.
Icing
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar, sifted
2 – 3 teaspoons hot water
a few drops of vanilla

Hey guys. Thanks! We will definitely make these and enjoy them! Maybe we will share.
Thanks for the great time at your home.
